Xander Talking to Mommy!

Xander is such a sweet baby! The hardest thing about having two kids is adding the extra 30 min to get out the door and getting them both in and out of the car...not too bad! =) He sleeps like an angel! We only get up once in the night to feed him and he rarely cries. He made me realize that Eric was a tough baby and he is my reward! (Eric is also a great baby...we found out that he had acid reflux as a baby from our pediatrician here when I talked about him in the hospital...still a little bugged at his first pediatricians! He sleeps all night now =). )

3 Wonderful Years!

Cute pictures of Eric posing for the camera!

Pictures were deleted, batteries were charged, and of course the camera was the one thing that didn't make it into our car! So, these are the only pictures we got...We decided to celebrate our anniversary a day early because Justin didn't have work and he did on Wednesday. We had a wonderful time! We went to Watford City, about an hour away, and ate lunch at a very nice park that had a wood fort theme, and then went over to the pool where Eric braved the water! He actually ran through and under the shooting water! He also kept purposely falling into the water. =) Around 4 pm we left for the North Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It was only a 15 min drive and Eric sleep until 6 pm. We got out at every pullout and read the signs, so it took us until 6 pm to make it to the the end of the 14 mile road. It was amazingly beautiful and there were a lot of trails, which we didn't take, throughout the whole park. We were able to see some huge, single buffalo, and deer and her fawn, some interesting birds, and a park ranger on a beautiful horse. There were some amazing land formations and you could see the different layers of the earth throughout the park. At the end of the road there was a path to walk up to a huge cliff that overlooked the missouri river and it was breath taking. I was hoping the whole trip to come across a herd of buffalo with babies and walking back to the car to turn around, there they were! It was great! On the trip back we stopped at another path that took you to the edge of the cliff where there was a cool building, kinda like a gazebo, from bake in Roosevelt's time and on the way there I come across this huge snake that was about 4 feet long, and my heart almost stops because my baby was running towards me in his shorts and flip flops and at the entrance of the park I had read something about rattlesnakes! I yell to Justin and he grabs Eric, who starts screaming, not appreciating that we are potentially saving his life! =) I was a little comforted when Justin gets up to me and the snake still hasn't moved and he asks if it is dead, but it soo wasn't, because it was gone when we got back! My guess it that it wasn't a rattle snake, but you never know... I loved the park and when we were done we went back to Watford City where we ate and a steakhouse called Outlaws. It was pretty good and kid friendly. Since we were celebrating, we got an appetizer of loaded potato skins, that for fabulous, steak dinners, and a pazooki for dessert. The food was great, but my favorite part was watching Eric eat the pazooki! He dug in and ate more than Justin and I! It was awsome! I didn't mind because he ate a lot of his dinner and the potato skins... On the way home we got to see the sun setting, and it was my favorite color...Pink! It made the beautiful countryside seem magical! It was a perfect day!

I Love My Baby!

Oh Eric...he is the cutest little thing in the world! Justin and I have been doing really good at having scriptures and prayer at night and Eric has partially started praying with us. =) When it is just us he automatically folds his arms and closes his eyes after we are done reading, and he has to have his Baby Bible for scriptures. When we are with my parents and sisters for prayer he looks around and giggles but will fold his arms near the end of prayer. Now at random times during the day, especially when he is getting his diaper changed =), he says, 'Mon' and folds his arms and closes his eyes. I really love it, so we say little prayers about 7 times a day together. He has also becoming quite the climber lately. He likes to get into his wagon all by himself now, and I don't know if it is just him being lazy or if he is scared, but he makes me come and get him when he wants down. I am betting that he is being lazy cuz he is constantly diving/jumping off of things and falls on purpose...hmmm...

Christmas in West Virginia

You can see the picture of Sarah's family on the edge of the table that Eric loved so much here...

Black Water Falls

Justin, Eric, and I really enjoyed our long but short visit to West Virginia with his family. We were able to be there for an entire month, but it flew by. It was fun seeing a little bit more of where Justin grew up and getting to know his family better. I am truly blessed with good in-laws. The only downside to the trip was all of the windy rodes...I got a little car sick. Christmas was great! Eric and Ariana got along a lot better this trip too. =) We had 2 feet of snow over night during the trip and the entire state was declared unter emergency and you weren't allowed to drive on the main highways unless it was absolutely necessary...the snow was beautiful though. Eric got really attached to his grandma while we were there, which is a big change from him bursting into tears the second she comes through the door...=) He also loves his aunt Sarah...There was a picture of her family and he would constantly pick it up and point to her or just stare at her. It was very cute. Eric also loved the Christmas tree! All of the decorations ended up on the top half of the tree. It did look very nice at first though...

Halloween Fun

Can you guess what Justin is before you get to the bottom?

Halloween was a lot of fun...Eric was a monkey, Justin was the Mountineer fan club on Facebook, and I was a vampire...=) I was able to go to a halloween dance with Amy, Krista and Katie at my friend Irene's house and got tons of exercise on friday. On Halloween we went to trunk-or-treat at the church and then around the neighborhood. Eric loved it! He was perfectly happy in his wagon for two hours! Justin is loving the candy, and I was...I started working out with my friends on P90X today...we are cutting back on sweets too...Yeah! Oh, the picture with Grandpa Hamrick and Arianna was taken when they were here for Eric's birthday, I just didn't want to ruin the Halloween post by putting it up early.
